Northern New Mexico Rocks and Ruins

Chaco Culture National Historical Park and Bandelier National Monument were homes of the ancestral Pueblo people until about the 13th century. Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument shows an unusual geological formation, where a hard cap rock has protected the underlying soft rock (tuff) from erosion, leaving a cone or tent-shaped formation.
